Point of view of the art itself 

Once upon a time, there was a group of young women. The youthfulness of these girls should not fool you, because in them resided a very acute emotional intelligence and an explosive strength of spirit. In those days, they were merely college girls at a time when angry protests were bursting out in every corner of our peninsula. A wave of frustration crashed into their young minds and they rebelled against fathers and bosses: some for work, some for hunger. Some for the yearning to be recognized. They were the angels of the ciclostile*, united by anger, frustration and the determination to transform the world. They were following the principles of Carla Lonzi, Carla Accardi and Elvira Banotti, shouting at the top of their lungs, "Woman should not be defined in relation to a man!" or "Let's spit on Hegel!" as the German philosopher embodied the epitome of a man who was unwilling to recognize a woman as a person. Since those protests, a lot has changed, but frankly not enough. Today there are still walls to be broken, rough spots to be smoothed. But we are not tired of fighting. We may perhaps feel alone, but we are together. And just as we've changed the world in the past, together, I am sure we will continue to change it in the future.

Now it is your turn, our little girls: lead the revolution so that we will no longer be angels of the ciclostile but angels of libertà.

*The angels of ciclostile are a group of female activists during the neo-feminist protests in Italy around the 1970’s.
